FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - VENDORS
When can I arrive to set up?
The hall will be open from 8:00 am for vendor set-up. Please arrive with plenty of time to unload, decorate your stall, and be ready before customers arrive.
What time does the market start?
The market opens to the Community at 10:00 am.
What time does the market finish?
The market closes at 2:30 pm. We ask that all vendors remain set up until closing time to ensure the best experience for customers and fellow stallholders.
How much time do I have to set up?
You'll have approximately 2 hours to unload, arrange your display, and prepare for the market.
How big is a market site?
A "market site" is essentially one table and the immediate space in front of your table.
How large are the tables?
Our tables measure 2400 mm × 750 mm.
Chairs are available if required.
Can I bring my own display furniture?
Absolutely!
You're welcome to bring shelving, display stands, hanging racks, clothing racks, crates, baskets, easels, or any other display furniture that helps showcase your products.
Please note that space inside the hall is limited, so anything that doesn't fit on or behind your table will generally need to be displayed in front of your table, while still remaining within your allocated site and without blocking walkways or neighbouring stalls.
The only limit is the number of tables supplied with your site.
How much space can I use?
Please keep all of your displays within your allocated site size.
If you need more room, you're welcome to book a double or triple site.
Can I share a site?
Yes.
If two businesses are sharing a site, please register both businesses so they can each be promoted on our website and social media.
How do I become a vendor?
Simply complete the Vendor Registration Form on our website.
https://www.makersandcomarket.nz/vendor-registration
Once approved, you'll receive payment details and further information closer to the event.
When do I pay?
Payment links will be sent closer to the market date.
Will my business be advertised?
Yes!
Businesses that upload their logo, photos, and business information before the advertising deadline will be included in our first round of marketing.
Businesses joining later will be included in future marketing campaigns.
What payment methods should I accept?
We recommend offering your customers a variety of payment options, including:
-
Cash (bring a small float)
-
EFTPOS or contactless payment (Square, Stripe, etc.)
-
Direct bank transfer (consider printing your bank account number or a QR code that links directly to your bank transfer details)
Many shoppers no longer carry cash, so having multiple payment options can help increase your sales.
Should I provide bags or wrapping?
Yes.
Customers appreciate being able to safely carry their purchases while continuing to browse the market.
Consider bringing:
-
Paper bags
-
Tissue paper
-
Gift wrapping
-
Reusable bags
Is food available?
Yes.
Food and coffee will be available throughout the day.
Can I play music?
Yes.
We'll be providing background music throughout the hall via a central speaker. However, you're welcome to play your own music at your stall, provided it is kept at a low volume and doesn't disturb neighbouring vendors.
Do I need signage?
We highly recommend it.
Clear signage helps customers remember your business.
Business cards are also worthwhile, especially if they include a QR code linking directly to your website or social media.
Can I leave before the market ends?
No.
To provide the best experience for customers and fellow vendors, everyone is expected to remain set up until 2:30 pm, unless exceptional circumstances arise.
Will there be power?
Yes, although power points are limited.
If you require power, please bring:
-
A long extension lead
-
A multi-box/power board
This will make it much easier to reach the available outlets.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of parking available.
Please park briefly near the main entrance while unloading your vehicle. Once you've finished unloading, we'd appreciate you moving your vehicle to the parking area around the back of the hall so the most convenient spaces remain available for customers.
Can I unload near the hall?
Yes.
You're welcome to stop outside the main entrance while unloading your stall. Please unload promptly before moving your vehicle to the rear parking area.
Are children allowed to help on stalls?
Absolutely!
Children are welcome to help on your stall, provided they remain under your supervision and don't obstruct other vendors or customers.
Who do I contact on the day?
If you have any questions before or during the event, please contact:
Laura Foster π 021 280 2065
Can I choose where my stall will be?
We'll do our best to accommodate requests where possible, but final stall locations are determined by the event layout and the needs of the market.
A draft floor plan may be shared before the event, but locations are subject to change if needed.
What products can I sell?
Please only sell the products listed in your vendor application.
If you're selling products that you didn't make yourself, or you're reselling another maker's products, please check with them first to ensure they're happy for you to represent their brand at the market.
In some cases, the original maker or wholesaler may also be attending, and we'd prefer not to have the same products competing across multiple stalls. This helps keep the market fair and ensures customers can meet and support the original makers wherever possible.

Market Etiquette
We'd love to create a welcoming, enjoyable market for both vendors and shoppers. Please help us by following these simple guidelines:
π€ Be supportive of one another
One of the best parts of a community market is the people. Introduce yourself to neighbouring vendors, lend a hand if someone needs it, and help create a friendly atmosphere for everyone.
π Engage with customers
A smile and a friendly greeting can make all the difference. Customers are much more likely to stop and browse when they feel welcomed.
ποΈ Keep your stall looking its best
Restock products throughout the day, keep your display tidy, and make sure prices are clearly visible.
π Stay within your allocated space
Please keep all tables, racks, displays and stock within your allocated site so aisles remain safe and easy for customers to move through.
π Stay until the end of the market
Please remain set up until 2:30 pm. Packing up early can be disappointing for customers and neighbouring vendors and leaves empty spaces that affect the overall atmosphere.
π΅ Be considerate with music
Background music is welcome, but please keep the volume low enough that it doesn't interfere with conversations or neighbouring stalls. We'll also have music playing throughout the hall.
π Move your vehicle after unloading
Once you've unloaded near the front entrance, please move your vehicle to the rear parking area so the closest parks remain available for customers.
π§Ή Leave your site as you found it
Please take all rubbish, packaging and unsold stock with you at the end of the day and leave your area clean and tidy.
πΈ Help spread the word
We encourage you to take photos during the day, tag Makers & Co Market on social media, and invite your followers to visit. The more we all promote the market, the more successful it will be for everyone.
β€οΈ Most importantly... enjoy yourself!
Markets are about more than just selling—they're about meeting people, sharing your passion, supporting fellow makers, and becoming part of a creative community. We hope you have a fantastic day!
